Meetings + splurges

Friday

Last Friday was our work’s monthly meetup so I got to hang out with my workmates. Midyear evaluation and all. It’s been fun because we played a lot of Exploding Kittens. I used a different bag to complement my outfit that day and guess what I found: the 2000 yen I’ve been missing since the Osaka trip! I forgot that I slipped it in one of my sling bag’s pockets.

After the meeting, I decided that it is the day I buy the specs I’ve been eyeing for weeks now. I’ve visited Owndays for four separate occasions because I really loved its form. There’s something about it that complements my face better than my current one. I know i’ll get it eventually so I just went with it.

It’s so cute! And the pads were pink!

While waiting for the specs, I went to Fully Booked to look for some books and knick knacks.

Some knick knacks I find cute
I want to buy this Hangyodon blind box!
I also want this one! Chibi Maruko chan blind box

Saturday

We had a brunch meeting with a potential partner so I was forced to go out of the house. I met my brother at Riverbanks mall afterwards to buy his new shoes. Little did we know there was a buy 1 take 1 promo so he got 2 new shoes for the price of 1.

Went on a date with J afterwards but I ended up shopping for myself as well. I bought some new clothes for our upcoming Japan trip and this thing:

Grocery day + vet visit

Sent Siopao to the vet after work. The good news is that her urinary movement is back to normal. The bad news is that we still have to stick to her S/O diet which is quite pricey imo.

Went to the mall afterwards to do some grocery shopping.

Looking for weird ingredients we can use to spice up our weekly meals. This radish seemed pretty cool

I’m having a hard time thinking of what meals we’ll have for this week that’s not already in my arsenal. In the end, I settled with:

  • Dried galunggong – I got excited back when I saw this one because it’s been a while since I ate some! Forgot tomatoes to pair it with though 🙁
  • Chopsuey – Just because I stumbled across some mixed vegetables on the aisle (they’re not that fresh)
  • Tokwa’t baboy – it’ll mostly be tokwa
  • Something togue something chicken breast meal – Not sure what this one will be, but I have some mung seeds that I’m repurposing as bean sprouts. My brother said that my sister cooked something delicious with those ingredients. We’ll see.
  • Pad Kra Pao – because I chanced upon some cheap basil along the leafy vegetables section. And I saw lots of videos on Tiktok that’s it’s easy to cook.

I have also decided that I’ll be making the switch from coffee to tea. I never liked tea, but coffee is making me jittery and anxious all the time. Just got the cheapest one on the rack. I had a weird hunch that I’m going to regret picking this one.

My work friends think the same 😂

Let’s see if it all works out tomorrow.

Anyway, here’s the Pad Kra Pao dinner. I think it went pretty well for someone who have never had Pad Kra Pao:

J and my brother liked it so I think I did a good job 👍
